Andy Macleod is the manager of KGS Air and Electrical Services. He has over 35 years experience in the air conditioning and refrigeration industry and is a long term resident of Karratha. His local knowledge and understanding of the extreme temperatures of the Pilbara add to his experience and qualifications in the industry. His experience ranges from residential to commercial refrigeration and air conditioning, with expertise in fault diagnosis and repair. Installation of new air conditioning units is also an area where Andy has vast experience, including the new Xylem facility in Gap Ridge, Karratha.
Andy is trade qualified, and as such holds a restricted electrical licence and is also registered with the regulatory body Australian Refrigeration Council Ltd (Arctick). As a member of the Australian Refrigeration Association (ARA), he is kept informed of world’s best practice in the industry in relation to safety standards, industry codes, products and sustainability.
Andy and his family live, work and school in Karratha. They are active in local sporting clubs including soccer and go-karting. They enjoy the lifestyle the Pilbara offers, and take pleasure in contributing to the Karratha community.
Andy is a hands on manager and also supervises his technician and apprentice. Safety is his highest priority coupled with providing a great service to Karratha and the surrounding area.
Recently joining the KGS Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Electrical team as the Office Manager, Mel fills all the administration duties within the Company. Coming from an administrative background, she is the primary contact with customers and suppliers. Amongst other duties, Mel handles all accounts enquiries and is your go to person.
Mel is a local Karratha resident with a husband and young family who enjoy the lifestyle the Pilbara has to offer.
Recently joining the KGS Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Electrical team is Gavin Lawrence, a certified licenced electrician since 2005. He is also the current holder of his electrical contractor’s licence (EC12485). Additional to many other tickets and qualifications including MSIC and ASIC, Gavin holds a restricted refrigerant handling licence and is able to work in conjunction with the already established air conditioning and refrigeration side of the business.
Gavin has worked previously in the generation industry, building and maintaining wind turbines throughout regional WA. He obtained experience through Rio Tinto in the Pilbara with electrical transmission and distribution networks. Other experience includes electrical contracting in the building industry in the Midwest.
Gavin is a local Karratha resident with a wife and young family who enjoy the lifestyle the Pilbara has to offer.
Dave is a trade qualified air conditioning and refrigeration technician. He is licenced with the Australian Refrigeration Council (ARC) and is qualified in the capture and storage of refrigerant gases. He also holds a restricted electrical licence. Dave joined KGS Air and Electrical Services as an apprentice in 2012 and has been a fully qualified since 2015.
Dave and his family are long term residents of Karratha.
Josh joined our team in early 2016 as a first year apprentice. He currently works alongside Dave and is working towards his trade qualifications as an Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technician.
Josh, like the rest of the KGS team, is a long term resident of Karratha and enjoys the Pilbara lifestyle.
